Weather

The Woodlands is a year-round destination, our subtropical climate allows for outdoor experiences throughout each season. When planning your trip to The Woodlands, it comes down to the things you want to do or see, not the weather. From lush plants in the spring and summer to a touch of color from the trees in the fall and brisk temperatures in the winter, a visit to The Woodlands is the perfect choice to explore and enjoy mother nature.

Spring

Temperatures in the spring range from the mid-50s at night time to 85° in the daytime. There are occasional showers that make the forested area and green spaces liven up. Enjoy this season at one of the many events or spend some time outdoors.

Summer

Temperatures in the summer range from the 70s at night time to 90°- 100° in the daytime. It can get warm and although there are many trees and opportunities for shade in The Woodlands, you should apply your sunscreen year-round, but especially in the summer. There are plenty of hotel pools, patios, and splash pads where visitors can keep cool and still enjoy the outdoors.

Fall

Temperatures in the fall fluctuate a bit more as the year-end approaches. Expect nighttime temps around 60°-70° and even the high 40s to 50s in November. During the daytime in early fall, visitors can expect temps in the 80s and low 90s. When Thanksgiving nears, the daily high stays in the 70s. Those nights make it just cool enough to enjoy the fall colors along The Waterway as the cypress trees begin to turn -- and add to the spirit of the holiday season at the annual Lighting of the Doves

Winter

During the winter months, the temperatures even out and are typically in the low 40s at night and 60s in the daytime. Due to the humidity of our area, it may seem colder to visitors from other climates, we recommend packing a few light layers. Be sure to check the forecast ahead of your stay with us. Although we rarely get snow or frigid temps, cold fronts have been known to reach the area. There are plenty of things to do outdoors during the winter, but visitors can also enjoy the indoor skating rink which is open from mid-November to mid-January each year.
