Josie Lewis
DIRECTOR OF SALES, CMP, CTA
Josie leads the sales department for Visit The Woodlands. Within this role, she oversees the sales efforts, FAM events, site tour coordination, annual tradeshow schedule, incentive fund program, and the servicing program. Josie serves as chair for the Visit The Woodlands Sales Advisory Committee, a group of Woodlands-area sales professionals that collaborate to bring conventions and group business to The Woodlands and create economic impact for the community.
Josie graduated from The Hilton School of Hospitality Management within The University of Houston with her bachelor’s degree in Restaurant and Hotel Management. Upon graduation, she worked in hotel operations and then transitioned into hotel sales before joining Visit The Woodlands.
In 2018, Josie was recognized by the Texas Association of Convention and Visitors Bureau with the Catalyst Award. Soon after, she completed her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification, which is a globally recognized credential that is a badge of excellence in the events industry. In 2020, Josie was recognized as a member of Connect Corporate’s 40 Under 40 program that highlights the top young professionals in the events industry.
In 2021, Josie earned her Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) designation. The program’s objective is "To increase regional tourism by inspiring front-line hospitality employees and volunteers to turn every visitor encounter into a positive experience."
Josie is also a member of Meeting Professionals International and volunteers on the communications committee with PCMA. She is passionate about the hospitality and tourism industry and is always working towards bringing new and exciting opportunities to The Woodlands that enhance the groups sales and events within the destination.
