Last Fling Before the Ring

Mimosas on the Waterway, the perfect view from your room and a weekend to reminisce over memories with your best friends… The Woodlands is a great spot to get your girls together for a good time. Not sure what to do in our city with your bridal party? Don’t worry – we’ve thought ahead! Check out the suggested itinerary below.

#01 Blo them away!

After you check into your hotel and drop your bags off, head over to Blo Dry Bar and get a blowout for the weekend. It’s no fun sharing a shower with tons of women! Get a quick fix that’ll have your entire group looking great the entire weekend. Bonus – Blo offers champagne to their customers!

#02 Current-ly stuffed

Weekends with your girlfriends are all about treating yourself to the food your boyfriends and husbands won’t eat. Indulge in something other than a burger at Current, where all the food is sourced from local ingredients and there’s not a flip flop in sight. It’s okay to spend as much money on dinner as you would your pair of shoes!

#03 Watering hole

One of our favorite spots for girls night is the Waterway District. What better way to start your Bachelorette weekend than drinks on The Waterway. Some of our favorite places for groups include the live music or karaoke atmosphere of Baker Street Pub, the local outdoor tequila bar, Yucatan Taco Stand and Crush Wine Lounge’s rooftop bar with bumping bass.

#01 Fresh flowers

Don’t sleep in and miss all the fun! Check out the fresh flowers, handmade goods and fresh veggies from 8 a.m. to noon at The Woodlands Farmer’s Market in Grogan’s Mill. Enjoy the fresh air and buy local snacks to enjoy in your hotel or grab some fruits and vegetables to take back home with you.

#02 Cheers!

After you stroll through the market, it’s time to brunch. What kind of mood are you and your friends in? Want to try some French delights? Head on over to Creekside where you can experience the homemade and handmade pastries from Levure Bakery and Patisserie. If you’re interested in hearty breakfasts and champagne mixed with hand squeezed orange juice (trust us, you can taste the difference), give Black Walnut Café in Research Forest a try. If neither of these options sound just right, head on over to Market Street and try the sips and bites at Jasper’s. Our favorite is the French toast!

#03 Supply and demand

Next up, spend some of your fiancé’s hard earned money and walk off the brunch you just filled up on. If you’re excited to have some time off of work to spend your hard earned money, check out Market Street. The perfect place to treat yourself, this center is home to brands like Kendra Scott, Tiffany & Co. and Kate Spade. If you’re buying for someone else, Brooks Brothers, Norton Ditto and Vineyard Vines also boast impressive stores.

#04 Pampered bride

A great pedicure is the perfect remedy for sore shopping feet. If you’re not looking to leave Market Street, check out Dionysus Spa or Bella Rinova Day Spa to treat yourself and your bridal party. Plus, what’s a Bachelorette weekend without a spa trip? If you don’t mind driving or walking a few blocks, check out some of the best reviewed spas in town at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott and The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center. Make an appointment and check out their sites for more details!

#05 All natural

Just because you’re pampering yourself doesn’t mean you can’t be adventurous too. Grab your girlfriends and hop in the car. It’s time to kayak! Riva Row Boathouse has instruction for first time paddlers or if you’re comfortable, hop into a kayak or onto a paddleboard for some fun on Lake Woodlands. Rent a Single Kayak at $15 for the first hour, a Tandem Kayak at $20 for the first hour or a Paddle Board at $20 for the first hour. Don’t forget to take pictures of your adventure and hashtag them on Instagram #VisitTheWoodlands.

#06 Happily ever hour

Head back to the hotel and freshen up so you don’t miss Happy Hour! Some of our favorite places to grab bites and drinks are located on Restaurant Row in Hughes Landing. Whether you’re a connoisseur of local brews or you’re craving a good margarita, the perfect restaurant awaits you. Del Frisco’s Grille has some of the best flavored cocktails around, Local Pour specializes in local brews while Escalante’s margaritas make you feel like you’re in Mexico. If you’re looking to indulge in sushi bites, try The Blue Fish where the chef’s sauce recipes come straight from Thailand. Trying for a fancier vibe? Truluck’s has some of the best seafood this side of Texas.

#07 Jam out

The Woodlands has some of the best local music around! Just outside of Restaurant Row is the Hughes Landing Bandstand where local musicians can be found on most weekends. Waterway Square is also home to concert events almost every weekend in Fall and Spring. To learn more about what’s happening the weekend you’re in town, check out our event calendar for details.

#08 Rooftop vibes

Did you find a favorite bar last night you’re excited to or are you looking to try something new? If it’s the latter, let us suggest the rooftop of Hyatt Centric where the cocktails are almost as good as the view of Market Street lit up at night. Another local favorite? Americas by the Waterway has some Latin flavors and a cozy atmosphere that’s perfect for big groups.

#09 Lowkey delicious

Maybe you’re looking for a night of rest, relaxation and lowkey hangouts with your girlfriends. If you’re looking for a night of recovery, don’t forget that Tiff’s Treats delivers to hotel rooms! Treat yourself to some late night goodies courtesy of this classic favorite or do cookies The Woodlands style by picking up some macarons at Macarons by Patisse in Hughes Landing. Bonus? Lush on Market Street has some of the best bath bombs, face masks and lotions you can buy to enjoy that night.

#01 Fashionably late

Since you woke up early yesterday, we think it’s time you slept in! Grab some Z’s before packing up your bags. Next stop? Brunch again, of course! If you’re headed to the Waterway District, we suggest The Refuge where you can get the best cup of gumbo in Teas or sample some of their other delicious dishes. If you’re feeling something simpler, check out our favorite place to grab a burger, Jerrybuilt! All the ingredients are fresh and their guacamole will change your life!

#02 Hold my bags!

If you haven’t stopped in The Woodlands Mall then today is the day. All the brands you know and love call this building home. Michael Kors, Nordstrom, White House Black Market and Potterybarn are just some of the brand names you can look forward to. If you’re looking for a personal shopping experience for your group, consider scheduling an appointment with a Nordstrom or Macy’s personal shopper. It’s the perfect way to find exactly what you’re looking for. If you’ve got a sweet tooth make sure you stop into Lolly and Pops or the Godiva store. Thank us later!

#03 Popcorn for lunch

The perfect girls weekend wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the movies! If your pack is into Indie films, head over to Cinemark on Market Street to drink a Starbucks coffee and enjoy some hot popcorn and movies you can’t find just anywhere. If you’re looking for the main stream chick flick you’ve all been dying to see, walk across the street from the mall to Cinemark 17 and XD where you can find all the latest blockbusters. Check out the XD screen – trust us, you can tell the difference!

#04 Sight seeing

After the movie stretch your legs with a walk along The Waterway. The Woodlands is home to the Art Bench project, 14 benches designed by famous artists that have been placed along The Woodlands Waterway. Find all 18 benches and tag The Woodlands CVB on social media to share them using the hashtag #VisitTheWoodlands. To learn more about the art benches, click here. The Waterway is also home to the dancing fountains! Stop by to enjoy the synchronized-to-music water show.

#05 Dessert first, please!

You have to have one last meal before you hit the road and we can’t help but suggest Tommy Bahama in Market Street for some Caribbean cuisine you can’t find elsewhere in Texas. This restaurant is the only one in the entire state! Everything on the menu is delicious, but make sure you get an extra basket of bread and don’t skip dessert. Their Pineapple Crème Brulee changed our life.

#06 Come back soon

We hate to see you go! Have you planned your return trip? Some things you can look forward to throughout the year include The Woodlands Resort’s lazy river opening up every summer, the 4th of July Red, Hot and Blue Celebration and your favorite artists performing at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. Find out more and come back and see us!
