Lighting of the Doves | November 17, 2018
Town Green Park  | 3 to 9 p.m.
Lighting of the Doves has been a cherished tradition in The Woodlands for more than 35 years, and the festive event kicks off the holiday season. Attendees enjoy snow play areas, live music, children’s activities, fireworks, and of course Santa will make his appearance! Santa will arrive as he comes down The Woodlands Waterway on a sleigh. Although there are a variety of activities and entertainment throughout the evening, all come together for the ceremonial illumination of the giant, white doves on the Lake Robbins Bridge and throughout Town Green Park.

The Woodlands Ice Rink | November 17, 2018 – January 21, 2019
The Woodlands Ice Rink season is here! Lace up your skates, drink some hot chocolate and enjoy holiday cheer in the state-of-the-art ice rink located in The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion multi-purpose building.

Holly Jolly Jingle | November 29, 2018
Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion | 5:30 p.m.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year for Holly Jolly Jingle as The Pavilion stage features performances of familiar holiday medleys by local high school students as well as the Sam Houston State University Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Choir. Concertgoers will be walking in a winter wonderland of activities. Guests are invited to create holiday arts and crafts, visit with Santa Claus and enjoy pre-concert performances in the plazas. All aboard the Candy Cane Express in the Gold Lot beginning at 5:30 p.m. There’s no chance of a silent night with this much music and fun.

The Enchanted Forest | November 29, 2018 – January 6, 2019

The Enchanted Forest is a multi-sensory light, dance and theatre installation that invites audiences to experience a magical winter forest in and around the Glade Arts Foundation building on Woodlands Parkway. Inspired by the book The Fox and The Star by Coralie Bickford-Smith, it tells a story of timeless friendship and the magic of nature. Audiences will move through the indoor-outdoor installation as they encounter an enchanting, interactive world of lights, acrobatics and dance.

The experience is family-friendly and welcomes audiences of all ages. It is wheelchair accessible and there will be some sensory-friendly performances where we turn the sound down, turn the lights up and have extra helpers on hand.

Smile with Santa | November 16, 2018 – December 24, 2019

Who brings lots of Christmas cheer for little boys and girls who have been good all year? Santa Claus himself will be greeting children of all ages as Market Street continues the much-loved holiday tradition of photos with Santa. Santa Claus is coming to town to share the magic and wonder of the season in space 1270 next to Ideal Image where young visitors may have their photos taken and, of course, whisper their wish list to St. Nick.

Twelve Days of Christmas | December 1, 2018
Market Street

The Woodlands will feel the spirit of the holiday season as they enjoy activities and performances that mirror the traditional holiday story – the Twelve Days of Christmas. Each day will bring either a unique event, or a live musical or dance performance from a local school or community group.

On the First Day of Christmas, December 1, carolers will be performing holiday favorites near the Christmas tree, and a live partridge as well as a Pear Cider Pop Up will be featured for guests to enjoy. Each day throughout the Twelve Days of Christmas will bring more holiday fun.

Grand Chanakah Celebration | December 2, 2018
Market Street

The tradition continues as Market Street once again hosts a Grand Chanukah Celebration and Menorah Lighting as presented by Chabad of The Woodlands. The celebration will take place on Sunday, December 2 from 4 to 7 p.m. Led by Rabbi Mendel Blecher, the lighting of a nine-foot, seven-branched menorah will take place at 4 p.m. with traditional Chanukah food and musical entertainment and fun for guests of all ages following the ceremony.

Jingle Bell Run | December 8, 2018

The Arthritis Foundation’s original Jingle Bell Run is the longest-standing festive race around, helping champion arthritis research and bringing people from all walks of life together to say Yes to furthering a great cause. Get jolly for a reason and be there with bells on for the one in four Americans with arthritis! Bring your friends, family and co-workers to a fun-filled day of holiday cheer, where 100 percent of your registration fee and fundraising efforts go to charity. If you’d rather just walk, no problem! This event is dog-friendly and stroller-friendly. Be sure to stick around after for food, drinks, door prizes, kids’ activities, and even a dog zone!

Winter Wonderland  | December 8, 2018
Creekside Park Village Green | 1 to 5 p.m.

This fun, free family-friendly event includes photos with Santa Claus, you will even be able to see one of his reindeer! Enjoy a pony carousel ride, petting zoo, inflatables, games, face painters, balloon artists, holiday music and more.

After a day of shopping and holiday festivities, relax at one of The Woodlands’ many award-winning hotels where you’ll enjoy fresh baked cookies, egg nog and hot cocoa. (Dreaming of sugar plum fairies and Santa’s sleigh optional.)
